Our Brother Firefighter
Over the past few weeks the Rice Twp. Fire Dept. has been short one of our members. Tommy Malys one of our senior firefighters was diagnosed with a brain tumor, this past Sunday Tom went in for a very critical operation to remove the tumor, Sunday afternoon we were advised that the doctors successfully removed the entire tumor. Wednesday Tom was released to come home to his family and friends. Tom still has a long road to full recovery, unfortunatly a small amount of cancer was detected, but with his spirit and the love of his family and friends we pray for Tom to make a full and speedy recovery. For those of you who do not know Tommy ,he is the proud father of 2 daughters, Emily and Justina, and the loving husband of Marybeth Malys. And Tom is a proud member of the Fire Dept, his nickname is "Tanker Tommy" , his was given this name because he loves to drive our tanker so much, I would even have to say he would fight you for the drivers seat, lol. We can say if the Tanker is needed you could always count on Tom to be pulling into the parking lot to drive. We ask that you keep the Malys family in your prayers and if you know Tom please stop by and say Hi.

RICE TWP FUND DRIVE UNDERWAY
The annual Rice Township Volunteer Fire Department fund drive is underway. We understand the economic tough times are effecting everyone. We ask if you can spare a few extra dollars for us it would be greatly appreciated and put to good use, since we too are affected by these hard times. The donations we receive are a major part of our yearly operating budget. Donations from the 2010 fund drive will be used to help with the purchase of a newer Tanker. The purchase of this Tanker will help us better Protect and Serve all the residents of Rice Township.

If you didn't receive a donation request and would like one, please call the station!
REMEMBER: As always, your donation is tax deductible! And we Thank You for your support!!!
